WingedChariot is delighted to bring you one of the first truly bilingual apps for the iPad. Marianne Dubuc’s wonderful “My House" is a real treasure trove for all the family to enjoy. It is full of the most delightful and surprising sequence of words and pictures in English and French.

Move pulsing objects around the screen: typically objects are at first only partially visible - tantalisingly placed at the edge of the screen – so that users cannot resist moving each object to reveal its ‘whole’ identity

Ideal for matching pictures and words - so allowing for vocabulary acquisition in one or two languages

Swipe each screen to move the text and images forward - perfect for following the attractive and unpredictable, surprising narrative

Tap the lower part of any screen to reveal the language switching menu - fabulous for teaching, learning, practising and reinforcing English or French as a foreign or second language

Tap the (X) to hide the language switching menu - so allowing you to continue swiping forward

Use the menu bar on any screen to go back to the beginning -so allowing for repetition, revision, and consolidation, all at the user’s own pace.

The app actively develops both reading and listening skills in English and French, and in passing, provides users with good pronunciation models in both languages. Combined with Marianne Dubuc’s delightful artwork, the app is guaranteed to provide all members of the family - especially the younger ones – an experience that is both pleasurable and educational.

Note: if you own an iPad 2 and have an Apple TV box connected to your HDTV you can now see the app full screen for the whole family to enjoy. Simply open the app and select Apple TV full mirroring from the Apple Airplay menu.
